Burkina Faso Exams 2025: Over 366,000 Candidates to Sit for National Assessments

Ouagadougou: The Minister of Secondary Education and Vocational Training, Dr. Boubacar Savadogo, announced that 366,232 candidates are set to take part in the 2025 session of national exams, including the Professional Aptitude Certificate (CAP), the Professional Studies Certificate (BEP), the First Cycle Studies Certificate (BEPC), and the Baccalaureate. The total budget for these examinations is approximately 18 billion 200 million FCFA.

According to Burkina Information Agency, registrations for the BEPC in 2025 have seen a decrease, with 206,136 candidates registered, comprising 122,982 girls and 83,154 boys, compared to 219,475 candidates in 2024. These candidates will be distributed across 1,422 composition centers, supported by 732 juries and 655 secondary centers.

For the BEP and CAP exams, 26,630 candidates have registered for 2025, slightly down from 26,833 in 2024. Specifically, the BEP will see 15,782 candidates, while the CAP will have 10,848 candidates. These exams will be conducted across 145 composition centers, with 124 juries and 21 secondary centers.

In the Baccalaureate category, 112,868 candidates are registered for the 2025 session, a decrease from the 120,767 registered in 2024. The professional certification exams, however, have seen an increase, with 20,598 candidates, up from 19,349 in 2024.

The schedule for the exams is as follows: the BEPC written exams will occur from June 3 to 13, the BEP and CAP from June 3 to 7, and the Baccalaureate from June 24 to July 8. The professional exams, including the CQP, BQP, BPT, and BPTS, are set for various dates between July 1 and September 17, 2025.

Overall, Dr. Sawadogo noted a decline in registrations for most exams, except for the professional certification exams, which saw a slight rise in candidate numbers.
