Ouagadougou: The Secretary General of the Boulgou Province, Yao Lall dit Siaka, led the first semi-annual session of the Bittou Health District Health Council for 2026 at the Bittou Town Hall reception hall. The meeting included representatives from local communes, health personnel, management committees, associations, and the Defense and Security Forces.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session aimed to discuss the health district's activities over the past six months, assess its performance, and gather feedback from stakeholders to enhance health services. Key presentations were delivered, focusing on maternal and neonatal health issues, as well as the district's epidemiological status.

Dr. Belem Zewentala, from the Bittou Medical Center, addressed maternal and neonatal mortality, outlining causes and preventive measures. Nestor Salambr provided updates on epidemiological surveillance, highlighting meningitis, measles, malaria, and dengue trends, noting a reduction in dengue and measles cases due to effective interventions.

Participants engaged in discussions, resulting in recommendations such as rehabilitating boreholes and acquiring an ambulance for a health center. Dr. Bourama Ouattara, the chief medical officer, praised the collaboration and support from authorities and partners, emphasizing their role in improving healthcare in Bittou and Bane.
