Ouagadougou: The Young Peacemakers Association organized the 7th stage of its "Seeds of Cohesion" Peace Caravan in the 1st district of Ouagadougou, emphasizing the importance of dialogue, tolerance, and unity among Burkinabe, particularly the youth, to foster social cohesion and national unity.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Hermann Guingan, president of the Young Peacemakers Association, noted that the current challenges in Burkina Faso demand responses that transcend a mere security approach. He stated, "Today's conflicts are nothing like those of yesterday. Faced with this reality, the response cannot be solely security-based. It must also be humane, educational, and community-based."

Guingan emphasized that the caravan's goal is to create dialogue spaces involving local authorities, religious and community leaders, young people, women, and the media to enhance mutual understanding and prevent divisions. He urged the youth to view their differences as strengths and to become "bridge builders rather than wall builders."

Wendyam Pierre Kouanda, president of the Special Delegation of District No. 1, commended the initiative for strengthening social cohesion, interreligious dialogue, and a culture of peace. He highlighted the necessity of national unity and daily peace-building efforts within families, neighborhoods, schools, places of worship, and communities.

El Hadj Sayouba Traor, the ceremony's patron, stressed the role of young people in promoting peace and harmony, cautioning against the misuse of digital platforms for slander. He called for dialogue as a defense against division.

Imam Alidou Ilboudou of the Young Peacemakers Association expressed appreciation for the caravan's positive reception, noting a genuine need for dialogue among the population. He highlighted the initiative's role in fostering intercommunal and interreligious dialogue for peace and development, and in promoting value transmission and initiative sharing among generations.

The "Seeds of Cohesion" Peace Caravan's 7th stage featured communications and exchanges among various societal groups and established the Peace Cell of district no. 1, tasked with promoting dialogue and awareness within communities.
