Ouagadougou: Revolution can only be carried out effectively with order and discipline, said the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, on Tuesday, urging his fellow citizens to draw these values from customs and traditions to build a developed country.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Captain Traor© emphasized the importance of these values during the 2nd edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Civic Participation. His message, delivered by Prime Minister Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo, highlighted the theme of the 2025 edition: "Order and discipline, I commit myself."
Captain Traor© articulated that revolution is not just a call to action but a state of mind that requires discipline and adherence to established norms and rules, especially in the pursuit of national sovereignty. He expressed concern that some citizens have yet to embrace this mindset, often ignoring regulations such as the highway code and workplace protocols.
The President lamented that these individuals, who are involved in fraud and misuse of public resources, are the same ones who demand quality services and accountable leadership. He urged the public to reflect on the foundational role that order and discipline have played in Burkina Faso's traditions and to draw lessons from them.
Further, Captain Traor© called for a collective reassessment of commitment levels to order and discipline across various sectors, including administration, workplaces, neighborhoods, and villages. He stressed that the proper use of public funds is crucial for the development of infrastructure, such as schools, health centers, and roads.
In conclusion, President Traor© called for a shift in mentality and behavior to achieve meaningful change, reinforcing the message that order and discipline are essential for a successful national revolution.
