Burkina Faso President’s Message Highlights Local Consumption at Pissila Ceremony

Pissila:The second phase of the Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation (JEPPC 2026) was launched in Pissila with a flag-raising ceremony, where a message from the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor, was read to attendees.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was presided over by Simon Nabaloum, the first vice-president of the Special Communal Delegation, and attracted administrative, customary, and religious authorities, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and a significant number of local residents.

During the ceremony, Mahamadou Sawadogo, head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Pissila 2, delivered the President's appeal to the Burkinabe people, urging them to make "buying local" a daily patriotic act to enhance national sovereignty.

Concluding the event, Comrade Nabaloum encouraged participants to spread this message within families, services, markets, and villages, emphasizing the importance of consuming and producing locally to achieve food, clothing, and national sovereignty in Burkina Faso.
