Ouagadougou: The Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Pingdwend Gilbert Oudraogo, visited the Grin des arts vivants, a cultural space that will now serve as the home for the Ouagadougou International Dance Festival (FIDO). The 14th edition of the festival is set to open this Saturday.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Grin des arts vivants was developed by the OPUGBU 6th Sense association and is situated in the Ouidi district of Ouagadougou. This cultural complex comprises offices, rehearsal rooms, a performance stage, bedrooms, and various other spaces dedicated to artistic creation. Recognizing the significance of this new addition to Burkina Faso's cultural infrastructure, Minister Oudraogo visited to show support for the promoters of the space.

During his visit, Minister Oudraogo expressed his appreciation for Ir¨ne Tassembdo, the choreographer and president of the OPUGBU 6th Sense association, who spearheaded the development of the Grin des arts vivants. "This afternoon, we wanted to visit Mrs. Ir¨ne Tassembdo, who is setting up a major program in this neighborhood," he stated. The minister also encouraged other show promoters to collaborate with the OPUGBU 6th Sense association to utilize this venue for their events.

Ir¨ne Tassembdo emphasized that the Grin des arts vivants is designed to be a hub for artists, hosting live arts, exhibitions, cinema, and various forms of artistic production. She highlighted that this space provides an ideal setting for FIDO, consolidating all festival activities, which were previously spread across the city, into one location. The 14th edition of FIDO will take place from January 24 to 31, 2026, under the theme "Sharing."

Tassembdo invited the Burkinabe public to gather at the Grin des arts vivants to enjoy memorable experiences. "Once you come here, all you need to do is bring your mat and blanket, and that's it," she noted, encouraging community engagement and participation in the cultural festivities.
