Ouagadougou: The Night of the RPP, a significant event scheduled for September 30, 2026, aims to reaffirm Burkina Faso's sovereignty and revolutionary zeal. This nationwide gathering will take place in Ouagadougou, regional capitals, and diplomatic missions, as announced by Ibrahim Guigma, President of the organizing committee. The event marks the fourth anniversary of President Captain Ibrahim Traor's ascent to power.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event, themed "The People watch over their Revolution," concludes a month-long celebration of the Popular Progressive Revolution's ideals. Comrade Guigma emphasized the event's role as a platform for patriotic enthusiasm and civic re-engagement, supporting the Defense and Security Forces and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland.
The Night of the RPP will unfold in three segments from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. These include a show featuring music, slam, and humor; an official segment highlighting significant truths, statistics, and testimonies; and a grand concert showcasing national and international artists. A surprise element is also promised for attendees.
The event invites participation from citizens of Ouagadougou, other regions, the diaspora, and supporters of the current dynamic, either in person or virtually.
