Cape Town: Burkina Faso's Minister of Energy, Mines and Quarries is set to participate as a speaker at the "Invest in African Energies 2025" conference during African Energy Week (AEW), scheduled from September 29 to October 3 in Cape Town. Minister Gouba's involvement comes at a critical juncture for the West African nation as it seeks to diversify its energy sources and attract significant investments in natural gas, renewables, and nuclear energy sectors.According to African Press Organization, Burkina Faso has embarked on ambitious reforms to expand its energy industry. The country is focusing on increasing Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) usage beyond the current 35% in urban areas to enhance investment in both upstream and downstream natural gas markets. Additionally, Burkina Faso aims to draw foreign direct investment to boost its energy infrastructure, targeting a national energy access rate increase from 21% to 95% by 2030.
