Ouagadougou: From Tougouri to Sebba via Yaadga and Soum, the fighting forces have multiplied offensive reconnaissance, ambushes and coordinated air strikes during the last two weeks of July, which have made it possible to eliminate many terrorists and force others to flee, AIB learned from security sources. The second part of July ended like the first, with a confirmation of the superiority of the boys' fire over the enemy and its supporters.

According to Burkina Information Agency, on July 31, during Operation Toodima 4 in the Sebba area, men from the 9th BIR neutralized several criminals. The day before, on July 30, a patrol from the Pensa detachment had already apprehended other criminals. A few days earlier, on July 25, the FORSATEC Horonya operation in the Kinsr area came to an end, at the end of which terrorists were thoroughly subdued and logistics recovered.

In a similar vein, on July 23, terrorist suppliers in the Bangossogo area were killed. This action disrupted the enemy's logistical networks. The day before, on July 22, in the Yaadga region, the combat forces based in Yens, on a logistical mission to Thiou, had benefited from the vigilance of air assets. These spotted a group of criminals following the convoy and, once the assailants had gathered under a thick tree, effectively neutralized them. They burned to the ground.

In fact, it was the previous day, July 21, that one of the most significant episodes of the period took place. While travelling from Toulf to Titao for a logistical resupply mission, the Combat Forces clashed with criminals lying in ambush under bushy trees, who suddenly appeared on their convoy. Thanks to flawless coordination, the air support aircraft struck to disrupt the attackers, while ground units pounded them down before sweeping the area to recover equipment. Several criminals were neutralized, including a terrorist leader, TALL Khalidou, alias Yro, alias Wahilou.

This foiled ambush was part of an already eventful night. The day before, on July 20, in Gomboro, an enemy lookout who was observing the deployment of forces had been neutralized in his escape with his communication post. During the night of the same day, around 2 a.m., mercenaries had tried, in vain, to simultaneously surprise the friendly positions of S and Banikani, north of Djibo. They were thoroughly subdued.

This sequence itself followed two actions carried out in quick succession in Kiembara. On July 18, the men of the 7th BIR had managed to trap criminals, who were neutralized. The day before, a first ambush in the same area had been successful. It all began on July 16, when the enemy attempted to attack the town of Tougouri, before being forced to flee the battle in haste in the face of the fighters' counterattack.

That same day, further south, the 9th BIR, conducting an offensive reconnaissance in the M'bamga area, clashed with the enemy, who were decisively defeated. Dozens of terrorists were neutralized and weapons recovered. These successes show that, in addition to the offensives they initiated, the Fighting Forces reacted promptly and decisively to an enemy that was living its last hours.
