N'djamena: The Embassy of Burkina Faso in Chad recently hosted a captivating performance featuring the national ballet and renowned artist Dicko Fils, aimed at benefiting the Burkinab¨ community residing in N'Djamena. The event took place at the residence of Burkina Faso's ambassador to Chad, His Excellency Colonel Boukar© ZOUNGRANA, as part of the International Festival of Saharan Cultures (FICSA), which ran from February 7 to 13, 2026.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the evening was orchestrated by Burkina Faso's Minister of Culture, Pingdwend© Gilbert OUEDRAOGO, with the intent to foster connections with Burkinab¨ expatriates. Dicko Fils revisited his musical repertoire, featuring pieces such as "Denke Denke," "Kiri," and "Acha," while the national ballet enthralled the audience with traditional sounds and dances that celebrate Burkina Faso's rich cultural heritage.
The event drew an impressive array of distinguished guests, including the Ambassador of Niger to Chad, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture of Chad, the Director of the African Development Bank (AfDB), and senior officials from international organizations with ties to Burkina Faso. Ambassador ZOUNGRANA praised the national ballet and its instructors, underscoring the strong collaborative ties between Burkina Faso and Chad.
In his address to the Burkinab¨ community, the Minister Spokesperson for the Government urged compatriots to demonstrate solidarity in Chad and to support the initiatives led by the Popular Progressive Revolution. These include the Patriotic Support Fund, the Faso Mªbo Agency, and various presidential initiatives and reforms across different sectors.
