Ouagadougou: The public press group "Les ‚¬°ditions Sidwaya" recently conducted a comprehensive training session from July 28 to 29, 2026, aimed at enhancing the capacities of its staff in managing administrative vehicles and fuel. This initiative, held in Ouagadougou, targeted heads of structures, asset and logistics managers, service heads, and drivers to ensure the preservation of the State's assets through improved governance and public spending control.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the training is part of a broader strategy to instill a deeper understanding of the regulatory frameworks, procedures, and best practices necessary for managing the institution's vehicle fleet and fuel efficiently and transparently. Assetou Badoh/Guire, Director General of Sidwaya Publishing, emphasized that the training served to update all stakeholders on the institution's asset management protocols, with the goal of aligning decision-makers and operational staff on regulatory compliance and responsibility sharing.
Badoh/Guire highlighted the training's role in expanding the drivers' knowledge, who had previously been trained in fuel-efficient driving, on vehicle maintenance, fuel management, and state asset preservation. She praised the session's interactive nature, which involved practical analyses and solution-seeking discussions tailored to the institution's realities while adhering to regulatory standards. She encouraged all employees to prioritize resource rationalization and optimal material management as common objectives.
The training was led by Ghislain Wendiane Fidel Pacere, Senior Accountant of Materials at the Ministry of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism. Pacere noted that the session covered strategic and operational aspects of state vehicle and fuel management, focusing on materials accounting fundamentals, fleet management principles, tracking, and handling offenses and penalties related to administrative vehicle use.
In terms of fuel management, discussions addressed the regulatory framework, management chain actors, allocation types, and the accompanying administrative and accounting procedures. Through this initiative, "Sidwaya Editions" aims to bolster accountability, refine public asset management, and promote the rational use of rolling stock, aligning with the State's good governance directives.
