Ouagadougou: The 5th edition of the Ambassadors of Peace Awards (APA) will be held on August 1, 2025, at the SIAO in Ouagadougou, under the theme '5 years of the APA: what results?', as announced by the organizing committee during a recent press conference. The event is set to evaluate the actions taken over the past editions, celebrate successes, and identify future challenges to ensure continued success.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the announcement was made at a press conference hosted by the Movement for the Culture of Peace and Love of the Fatherland (MPAP). Paul-Marie Zoma, vice-president of the MPAP, emphasized that the event is both a celebration and a platform for collective reflection. It aims to establish a shared vision for peace and sustainable development in Burkina Faso.
Mr. Zoma revealed that several activities will mark this edition, including a panel review of the four previous editions, scheduled for July 31. This panel will provide an opportunity for peace promoters to share experiences and analyze the impact of themes addressed in past editions.
The event will also include a charity and peacemaker awards gala on August 1, which will be broadcast live on RTB. The gala will feature the presentation of trophies and certificates, artistic performances, and a call for contributions to support the FASO MEEBO Presidential Initiative.
Awards will be presented in various categories such as the Grand APA, and APAs for patriotism, commitment, integration, and AES. Additionally, Mr. Zoma mentioned the introduction of an evening dedicated to partners and peace ambassadors, highlighting new innovations planned for this edition.
