Ouagadougou: The special delegation of the urban commune of Léo, in the province of Sissili (Central-West) exchanged on Monday July 22, 2024, during its second extraordinary session of the year 2024, on increasing the tax base.Two deliberations were adopted on Monday July 22, 2024 during the second extraordinary session of the year 2024 of Leo's special delegation. This concerns the deliberation authorizing the National Urban Land Company (SONATUR) to develop its site and another deliberation authorizing property taxes.According to the President of the special delegation of the municipality of Léo (PDS), Kassoum Koalaga, the implementation of these two deliberations will undoubtedly contribute to considerably increasing the municipal tax base.'Given the housing difficulties in general in Burkina Faso, the commune of Léo had a pressing need for serviced and secure land,' indicated Mr. Koalaga.The PDS reassured that the intervention of SONATUR in the commune of Léo will not only make it possible to res olve for a short time the question of housing in the 'city of tubers' but also to contribute to replenishing the municipality's portfolio.According to him, the need to take a decision authorizing the National Lands to develop its site is essential.The director of land and tax advice of SONATUR, Perfect Ouédraogo expressed all his gratitude to the PDS for the opportunity offered, in order to explain to the members of the special delegation, the merits of their intervention in the commune of Léo .From the discussions, the participants were edified by the explanations of the land director, Ouédraogo Perfect and his team.The special delegation also took a financial deliberation on property taxesIn the opinion of the secretary general of Léo town hall, Saïdou Ouédraogo, the taking of this deliberation will allow the governing body to increase municipal revenues while taking into account rural land.'This deliberation of a financial nature on the shuttle states essentially concerns undivided rural land i n the commune of Léo,' he noted.Mr. Ouédraogo also informed the participants of the amount of the tax at 15,000 FCFA per hectare for landowners and 300,000 FCFA for individuals.Source: Burkina Information Agency
