The Burkinabè government announced on Thursday the launch on July 20, 2023 of construction work on a 4,500 m2 amusement park within the National Museum, in order to increase the tourist offer. in the capital and allow the Museum to be self-financing.
“This project involves the construction of an integrated tourist complex consisting of a modern indoor amusement park covering 4,500 m2, a medium-class restaurant with a capacity of 350 seats, a swimming pool, a "Aqua-Museum" water park and a "village" with a capacity of more than 600 seats.
It will contribute to increasing the tourist offer of the city of Ouagadougou in terms of leisure and embellishment. The revenue generated will allow the National Museum to self-finance its conservation and research activities of cultural assets from our rich heritage.
The launch of the work of the said project is scheduled for July 20, 2023, under the high patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Head of Government.
