Burkina: The representative of the European Union inquires about the security situation

Ouagadougou, The European Union’s Special Representative for the Sahel, Emanuela Del Re discussed this Friday morning with the President of Faso Roch Kaboré on the security situation. 

Ms. Emanuela Del Re came to discuss with the President of Faso on the security issue, in order to better understand the situation in Burkina Faso and in the sub-region.

“The purpose of this visit is that we need to talk, to discuss things, to better understand the situation, and to meet a man like President Kaboré, a man of vision, it is really very important for us”, she declared at her exit from the hearing.

Ms. Re says she received important information from the Head of State “on security in Burkina Faso but also in the sub-region”.

She says she “learned a lot of things about human development which is really a major concern for the president (Kaboré) and for the European Union”.

“I learned a lot of things economically and the role that the diaspora can play in this country,” she said.

For Emanuela Del Re, the European Union and Burkina Faso are “natural partners” and she intends to continue working with the latter to meet the current expectations of the populations.

“In President Kaboré’s vision, there is really the idea of ​​starting to work even more for the population, to make this country even more present on the global level,” she concluded.
