Loumbila: The Chief of Staff of the Presidency of Faso, Captain Martha C©leste Anderson MEDAH, inaugurated a new market gardening site for the women of Zongo in the commune of Loumbila. This inauguration fulfills a promise made by President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, less than a month ago.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the site is equipped with modern, high-quality equipment, stemming from a promise made by President Traor© during his surprise visit to the women of Zongo on International Women's Day, March 8. The women of the cooperative now have access to a 3.75-hectare fenced irrigated area, which includes a 10 m³ water tower, fed by two boreholes of 11 m³ and 7 m³, and 15 water retention basins. They also received inputs and work equipment to aid their agricultural activities.
Captain Martha C©leste Anderson MEDAH, Director of Cabinet of the Presidency of Faso, expressed satisfaction with the completed work and emphasized the importance of these tools in empowering the women to restart their operations. He reiterated the commitment of the head of state, saying, "The head of state gave his word, and he kept it. And now you will keep yours, because you asked him to support you. Today, it's done, so you will be able to produce continuously."
Ou©draogo ‚¬Å¡¬°lise, president of the women's association, expressed her gratitude and joy, highlighting the significance of the achievement not only for the women but for the entire commune of Loumbila. She remarked, "We are convinced that our president is a man who loves his people, who loves to work, and who supports those who fight. This achievement was made in the name of women, but it is a gift that will benefit the entire commune of Loumbila. We asked him for a number of things when he came here, and he promised us. It has been done, and we are very satisfied. These achievements improve the working and living conditions of us, the women of the village, and we can only thank him.
