Burkinabe Author Di Maurice Millogo Launches Inspiring Book on Resilience

Johannesburg: Burkinabe writer Di Maurice Imhotep Millogo signed copies of his new book "Le Bless de guerre" (The Wounded of War) during a ceremony in Bobo-Dioulasso, bringing together family, friends, readers, and literature enthusiasts. The book, dedicated to resilience and overcoming challenges such as poverty, emphasizes the power of self-improvement and inner rebuilding.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the book addresses themes of courage, discipline, faith, and hope, encouraging readers to rise above adversity and transform difficulties into opportunities. Millogo expressed "total satisfaction" with the reception of his work, noting that "The War Wounded" is particularly aimed at individuals born or raised in challenging circumstances.

Millogo explained that the book's title metaphorically represents poverty as a wound, but without condemning those who suffer from it to remain in that state. He emphasized that resilience and determination are key to personal growth and success, asserting, "You have to understand that in life, your current situation is not necessarily your destiny."

Dr. Dab Eus¨be Alcinus Dombwa, the ceremony's patron, expressed hope that the book would raise awareness, especially among young people. He highlighted the importance of the book's impact on society rather than just its sales figures. Drissa Baillou, a guest speaker, praised the book's narrative as reflective of many children's experiences, commending the author's writing style and personal journey.

"The War Wounded," a 95-page book, is structured in five parts: "The Invisible Wound," "Inner Resistance," "Reconstruction," "The March Towards Victory," and "The Transition from Wounded to Healer."
