Burkinabe Consulate in Bouak© Hosts 2025 Cultural and Economic Day Highlighting Commitment

Bouak©: The 2025 Cultural and Economic Day of the Consulate General of Burkina Faso in Bouak© was celebrated on May 10 with the theme 'Burkinabe Diaspora: committed to the cultural and economic promotion of Burkina Faso in C´te d'Ivoire'.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event saw participation from Burkinabe people across the 15 Ivorian regions within the Bouak© consular zone. Attendees were treated to exhibitions featuring Burkinabe handicrafts and enjoyed presentations of traditional dishes, which were central to the 2025 edition of the Cultural and Economic Day, also known as JCE-BF.

The audience also witnessed performances by traditional troupes representing various Burkinabe communities and their counterparts from Mali, Guinea, and C´te d'Ivoire. The cultural festivities extended into the evening with performances by diaspora artists, following screenings of two films by director Bernard Yameogo focusing on the history of Burkina Faso and the life of Daniel Ouezin Coulibaly.

Sansan Rapha«l Kambou, the Charg© d'affaires ai of the Embassy of Burkina Faso in C´te d'Ivoire, presided over the event. It was sponsored by Issaka Sawadogo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Interprofessional Agricultural Organization of the Large Ruminant Sector of C´te d'Ivoire (OIA-GRCI). Kambou emphasized the diaspora's role in promoting cultural roots and global dissemination of Burkinabe culture.
