Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Head of State, His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traor, engaged in a meaningful dialogue with a delegation of the wards of the Nation at the presidential palace of Koulouba. Accompanied by the Minister of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity, these young individuals expressed their gratitude for the measures taken by the President of Burkina Faso to support them.
In a paternal manner, Captain Ibrahim Traor addressed the children, recognizing their unique understanding of the nation's security situation due to their parents' sacrifices for the country. The President assured the wards that efforts are ongoing to enhance their lives and secure a better future.
Captain Traor announced plans to construct specialized schools for the wards of the Nation starting in 2026. Additionally, agreements with health facilities and private schools are being considered to ensure access to education and social services, especially in areas lacking public institutions.
During the meeting, the President urged the wards to maintain discipline, uphold family values, respect elders, and excel in their studies. He reiterated his commitment to supporting them, honoring them as "the true heroes, the pillars of the Nation."
Burkina Faso: Minister Nacanabo Opens 2nd Edition of Innovation Prize
Burkina faso: Minister of Economy and Finance, Dr. Aboubakar Nacanabo presided over the solemn raising of the colors on Monday and took the opportunity to launch the 2nd edition of the Innovation Prize of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (PRINNOV-MEF). During the ceremony, the Minister emphasized the importance of creativity, rigor, and initiative as primary drivers of public performance.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative aims to recognize the ingenuity, commitment, and capacity for proposals within the ministry's structures. Dr. Nacanabo explained that the award will acknowledge initiatives created or implemented during the years 2024 and 2025, with the goal of fostering a sustainable culture of innovation within the department.
Minister Nacanabo outlined that the awards will encompass three main distinctions: the Creativity Award for conceptual ideas, the Emergence Award for developing projects, and the Excellence Award for innovations that have already been implemented. Additional special awards will include the Organizational Performance Special Award, the Sovereignty and Economic Resilience Special Award, and the Special Award for Best Citizen Engagement.
The application process is scheduled to commence on December 22, 2025, and will conclude on January 15, 2026. The Minister urged all directorates, mission services, and decentralized structures to engage fully with this second edition of the awards. "It's up to you, and see you on the evening of Friday, January 30, 2026, to celebrate the fruit of audacity," Minister Nacanabo concluded.
