Ouagadougou: The President of Burkina Faso, His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traore, hosted a delegation of women attending the 14th International Forum of Enterprising and Dynamic Women (FIED) on Wednesday morning. These women, representing 60 countries, visited Ouagadougou to recognize the President's leadership in promoting women's empowerment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Captain Traore emphasized the vital role women play in Africa's development struggle. He addressed the delegation, highlighting ongoing initiatives aimed at supporting women, especially in rural areas, by improving their access to essential resources such as water and production spaces. "I therefore encourage all women, in both urban and rural areas, to embrace this entrepreneurial spirit," he stated, reaffirming his commitment to backing women's projects.

The Burkinabe Head of State underscored the importance of a unified and self-sufficient Africa, urging women to make their voices heard as they have the power to influence and change leadership decisions. He called on women to help overcome internal divisions and foster a supportive African community.

Ms. Nkosazana Dlamini-ZUMA, speaking on behalf of the FIED participants, praised Captain Traore for his efforts towards creating an integrated Africa. Ms. Djelika Yeo, the founding president of FIED, expressed her gratitude for the President's leadership in advocating for the causes of the most vulnerable, particularly African women.
