Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traore, welcomed the U17 Stallions at the Koulouba Palace, acknowledging their commendable performance at the African Cup of Nations (CAN) in Morocco. He motivated the young team to focus on future challenges and bring back the senior CAN trophy.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the U17 Stallions recently returned from Morocco, where they finished fourth in their category at the CAN. Captain Ibrahim Traore offered valuable advice, congratulating the team for their group stage performance and qualification for the World Cup. He noted the lack of concentration during the final matches but encouraged the team to remain focused and resilient.
Captain Traore emphasized the importance of a winning mentality, urging the players to maintain a healthy lifestyle and avoid distractions. He challenged the technical staff to support and guide the young players, ensuring they are well-prepared for higher-level competitions.
The Minister of Sports, Anuyirtole Roland Somda, expressed gratitude to Captain Traore for his guidance, noting its potential to inspire the young athletes.
