Bobo-dioulasso: A vehicle attempting to cross the railway line stopped in the path of the train before being violently struck. The driver of the vehicle died in hospital, AIB learned from his family.

According to Burkina Information Agency, firefighters quickly intervened to evacuate the victim to the Souro Sanou University Hospital. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, succumbed to his injuries in hospital a few hours later.

The police were also on the scene to conduct the usual report. Testimonies collected revealed that the damaged vehicle had been purchased less than ten days before.

A similar incident was recalled to have occurred on November 17, 2024, at the SIFA level crossing, not far from the Konsa police station.
