Banfora: The "Revolutionary Youth on the March" (JeRM) initiative was officially launched on Thursday in Banfora, located in the Cascades region, during a ceremony that also marked the beginning of the 2026 season of "Sport for All".

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony, which took place at the regional stadium, was presided over by Mathieu Tingueri, the High Commissioner of Comoe Province, standing in for the regional governor. The event saw the participation of administrative authorities, youth leaders, and numerous young people who gathered for the occasion.

Mr. Tingueri emphasized that the JeRM initiative is grounded in the belief that achieving complete national sovereignty requires strong mobilization and heightened awareness among the population, particularly the youth. He highlighted the essential role of young people in the success of this revolutionary movement, urging them to actively participate in the People's Progressive Revolution (PPR).

The JeRM initiative is designed to enhance the sense of responsibility and patriotic commitment among young people by engaging them in actions that embody their revolutionary spirit. It will be implemented across all 47 provinces of Burkina Faso, featuring activities such as days of tribute and revolutionary commitment, monthly educational discussions in communes and villages, and public conferences focused on patriotic values.

Adama Konfe, the regional director in charge of Youth, encouraged young people to mobilize for the success of the initiative at the regional level. The launch of JeRM coincided with the start of the 2026 "Sport for All" season. It was announced that monthly rotating aerobics sessions will be organized in different departments to promote regular physical activity among the population.
