Catholic Community in Kampti Unites for Children’s Education

Kampti: The 27th National Catholic Education Day in Kampti was marked by a strong message of unity and support for education, as the Catholic community came together to advocate for children's academic and personal growth. The day featured a Eucharistic service, a food donation to the Sainte-Ther¨se school, and a message of social cohesion from a Muslim patron, illustrating a commitment to fostering a supportive educational environment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the celebration, which had been delayed, brought together faithful, educational leaders, students, and guests, emphasizing the importance of sharing and guiding youth. The Catholic Church of Kampti contributed significantly to St. Theresa's School with a donation of 30 bags of rice, four cans of oil, and beans.

Father Ga«tan Pale, the parish priest of Kampti, presided over the Eucharist and highlighted the pivotal role of education in children's comprehensive development. He remarked that education involves teaching children to grow in truth and emphasized that schools should aim to produce individuals who can succeed and live well.

Father Pale noted that the donation to the school underscores the Church's ongoing commitment to supporting educational establishments, thereby enhancing the learning environment for children. He stressed that aiding schools is a step towards securing a better future for society.

Appolinaire K. Some, the headmaster of the Catholic school in Kampti, expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown by the parish, the faithful, and benefactors. He noted that this support would ease the school's burdens and improve student conditions, reflecting a steadfast commitment to education and the future of children.

Salif Ouedraogo, known as "Yoyo," served as the patron of this year's event. As a Muslim, he viewed his involvement as a testament to the social cohesion among Kampti's religious communities. He pointed out that the Catholic school welcomes children from all backgrounds and reaffirmed his dedication to supporting educational endeavors for young people.
