Kampti: The Basic Education District (CEB) of Kampti has officially launched workplace literacy activities, benefiting about thirty participants, predominantly teachers.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative is part of a capacity-building program aimed at stakeholders in the education system. The sessions will be conducted in the Lobiri language, and the ethnic diversity among participants highlights the social cohesion and harmonious coexistence in the Kampti commune.
The launch ceremony was held under the patronage of Mr. Kambir© Bªbª, founder of the Bibiel Cultural Center in Kampti, and featured two notable speeches. In his opening remarks, Mr. Eug¨ne Hien, Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB), elaborated on the context and objectives of the initiative. He emphasized that literacy is one of the eleven major priorities of the Ministry of Basic Education, Literacy, and the Promotion of National Languages (MEBAPLN), reflecting the authorities' commitment to fostering inclusive education and valuing national languages.
Mr. Hien stated that literacy extends beyond learning the alphabet, serving as a crucial tool for personal, professional, and community development. He urged participants to exhibit diligence, rigor, and commitment throughout the training to achieve meaningful outcomes by the campaign's conclusion. He also mentioned that participants could opt to register for a certification exam, likely scheduled for April, to officially recognize their acquired skills. The session welcomes not only education professionals but any worker interested in participating.
Mr. Kambir© Bªbª, the initiative's sponsor, expressed his satisfaction in supporting the program. He praised the vision of the education officials and underscored the importance of promoting and valuing national languages, which form the foundation of cultural identity and enhance social cohesion. He encouraged learners to take full advantage of this opportunity.
