Ouagadougou:Mouhoun: Raoul Sanon, the Regional Director of Secondary Education and Vocational Training of Bankui, visited several educational institutions on October 1, 2026, to oversee the start of the new academic year.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Sanon, accompanied by his management team, toured the Kari high school, Poundou CEG, K¨ra high school, Bouan CEG, and Bondoukuy departmental high school. The mission observed that the academic year had effectively commenced and that the operational bodies of these institutions were functioning regularly. Discussions with educational staff centered on the conditions for beginning the 2026-2027 school year.
Sanon urged teachers and administrative staff to show commitment and rigor in their duties, stating, 'We came to encourage you and found a team ready to face the school year with serenity. Make the school your own and give yourselves courageously to succeed in your mission.'
Despite the positive start, the mission identified significant challenges, including a shortage of teachers and administrative staff in most schools, as well as a lack of school furniture in newly reopened facilities. Sanon called on educational communities to bolster local initiatives and partnerships to enhance learning and teaching conditions.
The supervision mission will continue in other provinces of the Bankui and Sourou regions, aiming to assess the start of educational activities and motivate stakeholders to sustain efforts for a successful school year.
