Chief of Kab¨ga Canton Celebrates Nabasga Ceremony Promoting Cohesion and Peace

Kourittenga: The Chief of the Kab¨ga canton, His Majesty Naaba Wend Boulga, held his traditional Nabasga ceremony in Nab¨ga, in the commune of Gounghin. The ceremony allowed the population to express their gratitude to the spirits of their ancestors and to implore their blessings for cohesion, security, and a swift return of peace to Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the royal court of the canton of Kab¨ga vibrated to the rhythm of cultural events during the traditional Nabasga ceremony. The event was attended by administrative and customary authorities and distinguished personalities from various backgrounds.

Ouidi Naaba Tigre of Kab¨ga emphasized that the celebration of the Nabasga ceremony is a custom, a practice from the ancestors to the present day. He stated, "Every year, we are obligated to celebrate it, as we are doing today, to express our gratitude to the spirits of our ancestors for their blessings and to implore them for health and abundance for our people, and for security and peace for Burkina Faso."

The Ouidi Naaba also wished everyone a happy and joyous Nabasga celebration and a peaceful return home, calling upon the sons and daughters to work for peace in Burkina Faso.

Mathieu Sandwidi, the representative of the elders of the Kab¨ga canton, expressed delight in experiencing this traditional day, which takes place only once a year. He emphasized its importance in allowing them to express gratitude to the ancestors and to seek their grace.

Adama Sandwidi, president of the Kab¨ga youth association, highlighted the significance of youth involvement in these events to learn from their ancestral heritage. He remarked, "We won't know where we're going if we don't know where we come from." On behalf of the Kab¨ga youth, he wished a happy and joyous Nabasga festival and a long reign to the chief of the Kab¨ga canton, His Majesty Naaba Wend Boulga.
