Ouagadougou:Bouss© Community actors, including members of agricultural cooperatives and women's associations from Kourw©ogo and Boulkiemd©, joined forces to improve the sanitation conditions at the Medical Center with Surgical Unit (CMA) in Bouss©.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Tind Yalgr© Association and the Regional Coordination of Women of Oubri spearheaded the sanitation operation, which took place on September 24, 2026. Equipped with cleaning tools, participants engaged in weeding and other sanitation activities aimed at facilitating movement within the medical center and enhancing the environment for patients.
The initiative was led by Mamounata Ou©draogo/Zoungrana, regional coordinator for women in the Oubri region, and Madi Sawadogo, president of the Tind Yalgr© Association. Both leaders are recognized for their efforts in combating malaria in the region. Their goal is to improve hospital sanitation and prevent diseases associated with poor hygiene, such as malaria and dengue fever.
An awareness session accompanied the cleanup, educating participants and communities on measures to prevent malaria and dengue transmission. Comrade Sawadogo urged citizens to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds by removing stagnant water and cleaning areas that could harbor larvae.
Mamounata Ou©draogo/Zoungrana emphasized the importance of maintaining hygiene in health facilities and encouraged civic responsibility among users to ensure a clean and healthy environment for patients and staff.
Chief medical officer Comrade Ad©line Dabir©/Salou expressed gratitude for the initiative and the ongoing support from the Tind Yalgr© Association and the Regional Coordination of Women. She also called on the community to take part in the upcoming National Day of Larval Control, highlighting the collective responsibility for sanitation and disease prevention.
