Ouagadougou: Comrades Moussa Dicko and Yacouba Namantougou were elected on Thursday, July 30, 2026, in Dori, as the primary and alternate delegates of subscribers from the Liptako region to the board of directors of the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC), following a regional general assembly of the section.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was chaired by the governor of the Liptako and Soum region, Comrade Abdoul Karim Zongo, in the presence of the director general of APEC, Comrade Karim Traor, members of the constituted bodies, and more than 150 subscribers. Following the vote, Moussa Dicko and Yacouba Namantougou were chosen to represent the subscribers of the region within the agency's governing body.
Speaking to the audience, the two delegates expressed their gratitude to the subscribers for the trust placed in them. They assured them that they would represent the region's interests on the board of directors and ensure that the interests of Liptako's local shareholders were protected.
The Director General of APEC, Comrade Karim Traor, congratulated the newly elected members, whom he described as "sincere patriots" and "ambassadors of popular shareholding." He indicated that in three years, the initiative had mobilized nearly 20 billion FCFA from 324,000 subscribers. According to him, these resources enabled the creation of two tomato processing plants and a semi-mechanized gold extraction plant, generating approximately 300 direct jobs and 15,000 indirect jobs.
Governor Abdoul Karim Zongo commended the elected representatives for their competence and urged them to be accountable to the region's investors. He also encouraged the people of Liptako to participate in large numbers in community shareholding initiatives to support the national movement promoting community entrepreneurship.
Launched on June 12, 2023, the presidential initiative for popular shareholding for community entrepreneurship aims to mobilize 300 billion FCFA to finance businesses in the agriculture, textile, agri-food, and mining sectors. The election of representatives from Liptako marks a new step in the involvement of subscribers in the governance of this program.
