Contact Hors Limites Organizes Successful Blood Drive at Yalgado University Hospital

Ouagadougou: The Contact Hors Limites association organized a blood drive on Saturday to benefit patients at the Yalgado Ouedraogo University Hospital Center. Approximately twenty units of blood were collected. "We have observed that there are several cases of patients in medical emergency departments who do not have resources to provide them with medication and clothing. Through our caregivers, we assist them until we can find their parents," says Cheick Abache Kabore, Secretary General of Contact hors limites. For him, some patients are unable to cope with the expenses related to care in health centers and the association contact hors limites sometimes manages to relieve them. Mr. Kabore was speaking on Saturday in Ouagadougou, at a blood donation session organized by the association Contact Hors Limites.

According to Burkina Information Agency, staff from the Yalgado Ouedraogo University Hospital Centre and local residents were able to donate blood, thus helping to relieve patients in need of this precious liquid. "The activity was launched about a week ago. So we were not expecting such enthusiasm. We extend our thanks to the donors," he said. Zalissa Ouedraogo, representative of the Kadiogo Regional Blood Transfusion Center, thanked the association for this collection and called on other associations to follow in the footsteps of Contact hors limites.

'This day reminds us that everyone can contribute to preserving a life. Giving blood is an act that saves lives, reunites families and makes tomorrows possible,' says Yenoudie Rebeka Roxane Soukaina Lankoande, president of the SUPLAMAR association. 'SUPLAMAR was alongside the Contact hors limites association this morning, particularly because sexual and reproductive health also depends on safe and consistent access to blood. We congratulate our partner on the success of this activity and thank all those who responded. Their generosity truly helps save lives,' says Roxane Lankoande.

The Contact Hors Limites association, created in 1997 to help disadvantaged patients, has launched an appeal for donations, either in kind or in cash, to support the care of impoverished patients lacking companions in health centers.
