Ouagadougou: The Council of Ministers has adopted a significant decree granting the status of "ward of the Nation" to 100 minor children. These children are members of the Defense and Security Forces and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, who disappeared or were killed in action during terrorist attacks.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this measure is designed to protect and support these children under Law No. 003-2022/ALT, enacted on June 10, 2022, which outlines the provisions and benefits associated with the status of "ward of the Nation." The decree underscores the government's commitment to providing care and assistance to the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.
