Ouagadougou: Burkinabe striker Dango Ouattara has been transferred from Bournemouth to Brentford for a five-year contract, sources close to the player have learned.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Ouattara was transferred for a record fee of around 50 million euros, equivalent to 32 billion 343 million CFA francs, making him the most expensive recruit in Brentford's history. This transfer also marks Ouattara as the most expensive player in Burkina Faso's history. The contract includes an option for an additional year.
Ouattara's former club, Bournemouth, expressed their gratitude for his contributions during his tenure. Trained at SC Majestic in Burkina Faso, Ouattara's career saw him play for Merlus de Lorient in France before his stint with Bournemouth, where he spent two seasons. SC Majestic will receive financial benefits from this transfer.
