Delegation Investigates Deteriorated School Building in Thyou

Thyou:A delegation from the Head of Mission of the Presidency of Faso visited the Nando region on Saturday, October 10, to assess the deteriorated condition of an educational building at the Thyou Departmental High School.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit was prompted by a report from the end of September highlighting the critical state of the building. The delegation aimed to evaluate the situation and engage with local stakeholders to find urgent and local solutions.

The delegation, accompanied by Rateba Dawega, President of the special delegation of Thyou, along with educational authorities, Citizen Watch, and representatives of associations and parents, inspected the damaged infrastructure before conducting a working session.

Boukar Kabr, the school principal, commended the authorities for their quick response and emphasized the need for swift action. He discussed temporary measures in place to accommodate students while urging for increased parental involvement in future initiatives.

Rateba Dawega expressed gratitude to the government delegation and local stakeholders, urging the community to show patriotism through voluntary contributions and participation in community projects.

Delegation members Ibrahim Bonkoungou and Daouda Sanfo encouraged the community to display solidarity and commitment, referencing the Presidential Initiative for Community Development, which emphasizes addressing local challenges through community-driven efforts while awaiting state support.

The discussions concluded with a unanimous decision to form a committee led by His Majesty Naaba Tigr to direct collective efforts, including fundraising and progress monitoring, to resolve the issue swiftly for the benefit of the students.
