Kaya: The high-level delegation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and its humanitarian and development institutions visited Burkina Faso to engage with internally displaced persons at the Kaya Reception sites. This visit, which took place on 15 August 2025, aimed to assess the progress of a women empowerment project financed by the OIC through the Islamic Solidarity Fund in 2023.

According to Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the delegation observed the positive impact of the project on its beneficiaries. These individuals are now involved in income-generating activities within the sites, made possible by the capacity building and working tools provided by the OIC. The support was well-received by both the affected persons and local authorities.

The delegation also evaluated the humanitarian needs of the displaced individuals and expressed a commitment to mobilize additional assistance for those in Kaya.
