Digital Technology: A Catalyst for Transformation in Burkina Faso

Ouagadougou: “Digital technology is not a luxury, it’s an opportunity, an opening, a driver of transformation,” said a representative of the association. Charles Da, communications officer for the Burkinabe Association for Education and Information through Digital Technology (BIEN), emphasized the importance of educating the population on the healthy use of social networks to ensure a safer digital space.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Da reiterated that in Burkina Faso, digital technology should be viewed as an opportunity and a tool for empowerment. His remarks were made at the Norbert Zongo Press Centre (CPNZ) during a training session for journalists. The event focused on the theme: “New Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and journalistic practices,” and was attended by around thirty journalists.

This initiative by BIEN underscores the association’s commitment to leveraging digital technology as a vehicle for change, aiming to equip individuals with the necessary skills to utilize digital tools effectively.
