According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was part of the Baskuy health district's days of excellence, gathering healthcare staff on May 23, 2025, for a football match designed to foster camaraderie and enhance the quality of care offered to the community. The match saw district 1 facing off against district 2, with both teams displaying competitive spirit and skill throughout the hour-long game. Despite numerous offensive plays, neither team managed to score during regular play, leading to a penalty shootout where district 2 emerged victorious.
In the women's category, district 1 claimed victory over district 2 through penalties as well, following a tense 30-minute match split into two halves. Dr. Ursule Bambara, Chief Medical Officer of the Baskuy Health District, emphasized the purpose of organizing these matches was to promote collaboration, solidarity, and social cohesion among health personnel. Dr. Bambara highlighted the importance of sport as a public health concern, advocating for its inclusion in daily life for overall well-being.
