Nahouri: Aim© Gu©, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Ti©b©l© commune, inaugurated the month of cultural heritage at the royal court of Ti©b©l©. This initiative, spearheaded by the Djouawoli Association for the Development of Ti©b©l©, aims to celebrate and preserve the rich cultural legacy of the region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch featured traditional Kassena mural painting activities undertaken by women painters at the royal court, a recognized UNESCO World Heritage site. The Djouawoli association's focus is on perpetuating and enhancing cultural heritage to ensure its transmission to future generations. Richard Akouabou, the association's president, emphasized the importance of promoting Kassena culture, which is a vital symbol of their identity. This year's cultural heritage month will include activities that revitalize the decorations of the houses in the royal court of Ti©b©l©.
The theme for this edition, "Heritage and Cultural Diversity: Commitment, Role and Responsibility of Actors," highlights the dedication needed to preserve cultural values. The event is scheduled to run from April 18 to May 18, 2026, covering the entire national territory. Aim© Gu© praised the association's leaders for their efforts and encouraged cultural stakeholders to actively participate and advocate for cultural promotion.
The launch ceremony was graced by notable attendees, including Mahamadou Adiawourabou, representing the provincial director of culture of Nahouri, alongside the Living Human Treasure, Kay¨ Tintana, and supporters of the association.
