Ouagadougou: After four years of relocation to Nouna for security reasons, the Dokuy town hall resumed its activities on site since Monday, September 14, 2026, to the great relief of the population. The secretary general of the town hall, Blaise Zoumbara and his team have been hard at work since Wednesday, September 16, in the now operational town hall premises in Dokuy.

According to Burkina Information Agency, municipal services had been relocated to Nouna since 2022 due to insecurity. This situation forced the inhabitants of the municipality to make long journeys to access civil registry services and other administrative services. The improved security situation, thanks to the efforts of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), has facilitated the gradual return of public services to the municipality.

Since September 14, 2026, the town hall and the prefecture have resumed their activities in Dokuy, thus bringing the administration and the citizens closer together. This return was welcomed with satisfaction by the canton chief of Dokuy, Dramane Sangare, as well as by the populations of the different villages of the commune.

For the President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Dokuy, Abdoul Ouahbidi Sibri 2 Guingane, the resumption of services on site constitutes a relief for the people, who will now be able to access administrative services more easily.
