Tougan: The Education Without Borders Association (AESF) donated seventy-five pairs of shoes to students from five schools in the city on Wednesday to show their solidarity with vulnerable children.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the beneficiary students come from the provincial high school, the municipal high school, the communal high school, the general education college (CEG), and the private high school Monseigneur Z©phirin To©.
The Association's representative, Lambo¨ Mich¨l Di©ni, explained that this donation is a result of collaboration with partners in Denmark who were moved to support vulnerable children in Burkina Faso. "It was a favorite of our Danish partner. The idea came from a video of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) that she watched when I was in Denmark. She decided there and then to help some of the children by giving them pairs of shoes," stated Mr. Di©ni.
Traor© Syalli Dj©n©ba, a ninth-grade student at the provincial high school, expressed joy and gratitude for the donation, thanking the association and its partners for the humanitarian gesture.
D©sir© Badolo, High Commissioner of Sourou, praised the donors and encouraged others to show solidarity with those in need. The ceremony was conducted under the leadership of the provincial high commissioner and included the presence of the provincial director responsible for secondary education, vocational, and technical training.
