Mafikeng Labour Centre in the North West offer limited services following electricity cuts in the area
Mafikeng Labour Centre in the North West is offering limited services to clients following electricity cuts that plunged some parts of Mafikeng town since yesterday morning.
According to the Acting Chief Director: Provincial Operations, Mr Boikie Mampuru, this challenge has negatively affected the services at the centre as all the systems are off.
“Most of our services are conducted online, therefore with this power cuts we are unable to provide a full suit of our services. However, we are doing everything possible to assist clients manually were applicable. It is so unfortunate that it happened now when we are doing our best to assist clients who visit our offices in high numbers, desperately in need of services following the adversities that were brought by the outbreak of COVID-19,” said Mampuru.
The matter has been reported to the relevant authorities and as of to date there is no indication as to when electricity will be restored.
Clients who are able to visit other nearest labour centres in the province are encouraged to do so or make use of the Departments’ online services by logging on to www.labour.gov.za.
