End of Patriotic Training for 178 ONEA Agents

Ouagadougou: 178 new agents of the National Office for Water and Sanitation (ONEA) officially completed, this Tuesday, their patriotic immersion at the Training and Production Center of the National Service for Development (SND) in Loumbila.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the thirty-day immersion program, which began on March 16, 2026, was designed to instill a sense of responsibility, teamwork, and commitment to public service among the new recruits. The program included military, civic, and moral training modules, along with introductory sessions on weapons handling.

Herve Dembele, the class representative recruited as a legal advisor, expressed satisfaction with the training, noting how initial apprehensions were transformed into valuable learning experiences. He shared that the immersion was moving and educational.

The Director General of ONEA, Flandion Idrissa Sourabie, echoed this sentiment of pride and highlighted the potential positive impact on service quality. He addressed the new officers, emphasizing the importance of discipline, civic-mindedness, endurance, resilience, and patriotic commitment in their professional identity.

The ceremony included performances by the agents, such as an awareness skit promoting civic behavior among ONEA customers and a simulation of first aid gestures for those in distress. Captain Daouda Dao, director of the SND, commended the discipline and exemplary behavior of the ONEA agents during the training. He urged them to be role models and ambassadors of civic responsibility, reinforcing citizens' trust in public services.

Upon completion of the patriotic immersion, the recruits emerge well-prepared, with an understanding of military discipline, national security, and civic and patriotic values, ready to serve the nation with commitment and professionalism.
