Endeavour Mining Supports Education of 504 Students in Burkina Faso

Houndé:Burkina Faso The mining group Endeavour Mining, through its foundation, has offered substantial support to 504 students in Burkina Faso for the 2026-2027 academic year. This initiative includes the provision of scholarships, school supplies, and professional internships to enhance academic achievement, reduce school dropout rates, and aid in the professional integration of young people.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the beneficiaries of this support are from Houndé, Mana, and Ouagadougou. Endeavour Mining aims to assist young people throughout their educational journey from school to university through three distinct programs.

The "Golden Nuggets" program acknowledged 339 children of the group's employees who have earned diplomas. These beneficiaries are spread across Houndé (204), Mana (115), Ouagadougou (11), and exploration sites (9). Since 2022, a total of 1,032 people in Burkina Faso have benefited from this program.

The "Youth in Education" initiative supported 154 middle school students, evenly split between Houndé and Mana, with four-year scholarships to ensure they can continue their studies.

For higher education, the "Elite of Tomorrow" program supports 11 students, with seven in Houndé and four in Mana. This program not only provides university scholarships but also includes internships at the group's operational sites and regional offices.

Honorine Gnoumou, who passed her BEPC in 2026 in Houndé and advanced to the second year of high school, highlighted the impact of the scholarship she received from sixth to ninth grade, stating it allowed her to cover many school expenses and continue her studies under improved conditions.

The "Tomorrow's Elites" program also benefited Zakaria Sawadogo, now an energy efficiency engineer at Endeavour Mining, who credited the experience with helping him acquire skills and integrate into the professional world.

Established in 2021, the Endeavour Foundation operates in Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, and Senegal, focusing on education, health, access to water and electricity, and the socio-economic development of communities.
