Sanaba: Lacine Sankara, representing the president of the special delegation (PDS) of Sanaba, presided over the first general assembly of the communal committee of the school council, held at the Sanaba "A" school. This meeting marked a significant milestone in the local education sector.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the first meeting convened the various chairpersons of the school councils, along with representatives from other communities who were authorized to participate. The Head of the Sanaba Basic Education District (CCEB) welcomed all participants and urged them to engage more actively in school activities. He further elaborated on the documents concerning the establishment of the council, detailing the responsibilities of each member.
The CCEB highlighted that the committee's resources would derive from community contributions, state subsidies, donations, project support, and partnerships with local and international organizations. Following these discussions, the PDS representative initiated the setup of the executive office of the municipal school council committee.
An executive committee, consisting of five members, was formed through a voting process. Their term is set for three years, renewable once, and is unpaid. The committee is tasked with gathering, analyzing, and prioritizing issues from the municipal school councils, developing an activity program, and preparing reports on the committee's activities.
On behalf of the committee, the President committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to enhance the quality of education in the commune of Sanaba. Before concluding the session, he reminded participants that the contribution for school life is set at 1000 FCFA per student and urged schools that had set higher contributions to refund the excess amount.
