Ouagadougou: The 2026 class of the Faso Mªbo Holiday Camp was named "Toyiro", which means "The future belongs to you", at the end of ten days of activities devoted to patriotic education, discipline, culture, and know-how for the benefit of the very young. Organised from August 10 to 19, 2026, this edition allowed young participants to strengthen their civic awareness and their commitment to national construction.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Director General of the Faso Mªbo Agency, Commander Zoodnoma Ahmed Sakande, emphasized the special nature of this edition, organized in the six military regions. He highlighted that the participants received the same fundamental teachings and shared the same ideal, making them "one Burkinab¨ youth." He further specified that "Toyiro" will be the common name for the graduating classes from the six military regions, symbolizing "one name, one graduating class, one generation."
Speaking on behalf of the national sponsor, the commander of the 3rd Military Region, Lieutenant Colonel Armand Michel Ouedraogo, encouraged parents to extend the lessons learned during the camp into their families. "The lessons learned here are not just for vacation; they are for life," he declared, urging the young people to respect their parents and teachers, protect public property, cultivate integrity, and learn more about their history.
The campers' representative, Habdine Guidado Diallo, indicated that the participants left enriched with knowledge, interpersonal skills, and practical abilities. He emphasized that the camp allowed them to better understand national symbols, the history of Burkina Faso, the challenges of sovereignty, and the values of discipline, solidarity, and hard work.
The campers also received military training and participated in an obstacle course. They were introduced to paving and laying paving stones, reforestation, and landscaping. Cultural activities, including patriotic songs, traditional dances, and visual arts, also marked the stay.
The parents' representative, Oumarou Guira, praised the initiative and the commitment of the supervisors. He felt that the children returned more responsible and more aware of their role in building the country. The ceremony concluded with calls for discipline, work, solidarity, and patriotic commitment from Burkinabe youth.
