Ouagadougou: The "Feu de Bois" festival launches its 10th edition in Napalgue: The International Festival of Sacred Performing Arts "Feu de Bois" opened its 10th edition on Friday, November 21, 2025, in Napalgue, in the commune of Niou, under the presidency of the High Commissioner of the province of Kourweogo, Mahamadi Congo and the sponsorship of the economic operator Seydou Boro.

According to Burkina Information Agency, for 72 hours, Napalgue and the entire Kourweogo province will experience a celebration of arts, culture, and ancestral traditions. The opening ceremony featured performances from traditional music and dance artists, lyricists, and several official speeches.

The festival promoter, Ismael Zoungrana, expressed satisfaction with the event reaching its tenth edition since 2015. He noted the financial and material challenges each edition presents and thanked the partners and personalities who supported the organization.

The sponsor, Seydou Boro, CEO of BOPA International, expressed honor in being associated with an initiative that emphasizes cultural heritage. He believes the festival provides a framework for social cohesion and the celebration of ancestral values, and he pledged to support the next edition.

High Commissioner Mahamadi Congo praised the initiative for promoting culture, arts, and know-how. He stressed that the festival serves as a tool for promoting cultural sovereignty and national influence. Mr. Congo highlighted the festival's role in reminding us of the richness and depth of cultural diversity and emphasized values such as respect for nature, transmission of knowledge, and the promotion of unity.

The festival also includes workshops where participants can discover or rediscover traditional dance steps and artistic works significant to national cultural history. Following the ceremony, authorities visited the Army Museum stand, exploring the history of the National Armed Forces through artifacts, period photographs, antique weapons, and military uniforms.
