Ouagadougou, The Permanent Secretariat of the National Committee for the Fight against Drugs (SP / CNLD) sensitized from October 25 to 30, 2021, 3,737 students from 17 schools in the Cascades and Hauts-Bassins regions on the harmful effects of drug abuse, we learned from the structure’s communication service.
The series of sensitizations on the harmful effects of drug abuse in general was carried out by teams of the SP / CNLD, under the supervision of its Permanent Secretary, the General Controller of Police D. Franck Elvis Compaoré.
During five days, the SP / CNLD teams of Bobo-Dioulasso and Banfora led respectively by Police Commissioners Lévy Yoda and Jean-Marie Kouraogo, experienced during their communication a good atmosphere on the part of the beneficiaries of a on the part and by the heads of establishments on other parts.
These last cited which have given numerous examples of unfortunate behavior of certain students under the influence of these highly dangerous products.
On the content of the awareness, it was a question of looking at the beneficiaries, to strengthen the protective factors and to reduce the risk factors in order to reduce the probabilities of drug use within the school populations. .
This included informing students about the nature of drugs and their effects; – invite students to express themselves on their own perception of drugs, their dangerousness and their additive power.
It was also to make students realize that much of the popular knowledge and misconceptions about the benefits of drugs are erroneous, incomplete, inaccurate or simply misleading.
The sensitizers subsequently strengthened the psychosocial skills of the students.
The regional authorities have recognized that this awareness-raising activity is perfectly in line with the vision of the ministry in charge of education in its response to drugs and this will help protect students against the scourge.
The targets of this awareness, which are the students, are committed to being relays with their comrades and relatives in this fight against drugs.
This awareness-raising activity is the preventive one that is part of the priority programs of the SP / CNLD and it takes the form of an awareness campaign to achieve the goal of “a drug-free school”.
