Ouagadougou: A fire that broke out Monday morning in the office of the Minister in charge of Family Affairs, Lieutenant-Colonel Passowend© P©lagie Kabor©, was quickly brought under control thanks to the diligence of the firefighters, an AIB collaborator observed. The fire occurred shortly before the start of the flag-raising ceremony, which brought together the Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Pindgwend© Gilbert Ou©draogo, the Minister of Family and Solidarity, Lieutenant-Colonel Passowend© P©lagie Kabor©, as well as the new Minister of Sports, Youth and Employment, Annick Lydie Djouma Pikbougoum, and their staff.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Minister of Communication attributed the repeated fires in the Ouagadougou administrative building to the failure to adhere to best practices and a lack of integrity among some of his predecessors. He emphasized that if the work had been conducted with integrity, without corruption, such situations could have been avoided. The minister further mentioned that some civil servants had deviated from their duties due to the temptation of easy money.
