Flag-Raising Ceremony in Bogand e Strengthens Cohesion and Reaffirms State Authority

Ouagadougou: The Bogand e prefecture hosted the official flag-raising ceremony as part of the rotating initiative of the High Commission of Gnagna Province. Presided over by the Secretary General of the province, the ceremony brought together administrative authorities, defense and security forces, and agents of decentralized services, all united around the values of patriotism, cohesion, and good governance.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was marked by the presence of public officials and administrative leaders dressed in traditional Faso Danfani and kokodonda attire, who stood in solidarity during the raising of the national colors. This act reaffirmed their commitment to the symbols of the State and republican principles. Following the ceremony, Taugolo Par e, the prefect of the Bogand e department, detailed the duties and responsibilities of the prefect within Burkina Faso's administrative framework, emphasizing the role as the State's representative and the guarantor of State authority at the local level.

The prefect highlighted the importance of coordinating and overseeing the actions of decentralized state services, ensuring the application of laws and regulations, and maintaining public order through collaboration with defense and security forces. He also mentioned the administrative police powers aimed at preventing disturbances and protecting people and property. The role extends to implementing public policies and development programs, supporting municipalities, and promoting socio-economic development.

In his address, Mendien dit Moussa Soma, the Secretary General of the Gnagna province, called on department heads to manage their administrations with probity, integrity, and responsibility. He stressed the need for transparency, rigor, and efficiency in handling cases, emphasizing service to the people.

The Secretary-General also announced activities planned for International Women's Day, focusing on initiatives to empower women and enhance their contribution to local development through awareness-raising and support. The flag-raising ceremony, a rotating activity initiated by the High Commission of Gnagna, aims to strengthen inter-service cohesion, promote administrative discipline, and reinforce the values of loyalty and devotion to the Nation.
