Indeed, as part of its health and social action program, it has organized every year, and this, for more than a decade, an operation to grant scholarships and school kits to orphans and vulnerable children of its insured persons. On this occasion, food is also given to widows and widowers with a low income from social benefits. The tradition was respected this year 2024. 70 orphans and vulnerable children each received this Friday, September 13, 2024 a scholarship of 100,000 CFA francs and a school kit consisting of a school bag, notebooks and materials worth 25,000 CFA francs. The total amount of the school kits and scholarships amounts to 8.75 million CFA francs. Also, 80 widows of insured persons each left with a 50 kg bag of rice. The food cost 2.4 million CFA francs. For this operation, the CNSS paid out the sum of 11.15 million CFA francs. This action, according to the regional director of CNSS of Dédougou, Seydou Koné, is part of the fund's dynamic to support the vulnerable groups of its policyholders. " This ceremony reflects the renewed commitment of the CNSS to always support the most deprived policyholders and their family members in order to contribute to their development," he said. This surge of solidarity, continued Seydou Koné, is also in line with the paths taken by the Transitional government, which called for more mutual aid, solidarity and generosity among Burkinabe. Similarly, he stressed that the slogan of the CNSS, which is "the virtues of solidarity", has been demonstrated towards compatriots in need sin ce 1978, through various forms of individual and collective assistance. To the beneficiary students, Mr. Koné invited them to give their best at school to honor their parents and also to give reasons to the CNSS and its partners to continue to support them in their studies. This appeal did not fall on deaf ears, because the representative of orphans and vulnerable children, on behalf of the beneficiaries, made a commitment to make the 2024-2025 school year a success so as not to disappoint donors. The representative of widows, Dramé Mama Koumandi, expressed her gratitude to the top officials of the CNSS for this gesture which is "a great relief" for each of the beneficiaries. " We thank the CNSS and its partners who are helping us through the precious donation of food, scholarships and school kits for our children ," she said. The president of the special delegation of Dédougou, Dieudonné Tougfo, welcomed the initiative of the CNSS which brings relief to families who are facing difficulties. " We are always requesting and waiting for the CNSS to provide support in the social field for the well-being of the population ," he pleaded. Addressing the beneficiary students, he urged them to improve their academic results so that the CNSS can continue to help other children succeed. This activity, which took place simultaneously in the other regional directorates of the CNSS, is in its 8th edition and will allow 600 widows and widowers and 600 orphaned children in the country to benefit from aid estimated at more than 100 million CFA francs.Source: Burkina Information Agency
