Ouagadougou: The Ambassador for Sport, Comrade Charles KABOR, inaugurated a football talent-scouting tournament this Monday morning at the Benfica Campus BF. This event, which runs until September 16, aims to highlight young local talents on an international stage, specifically targeting players under the age of 18.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the tournament is part of the Presidential Initiative for the Development and Promotion of Elite Sport, led by the Head of State, Comrade Captain Ibrahim TRAOR. It unites 12 well-known football training centers and academies, providing a platform for these young athletes to display their skills over the course of three days.
The initiative, spearheaded by former Stallions captain Charles KABOR, aligns with Captain Ibrahim TRAOR's vision of opening pathways to high-level football for Burkinab¨ youth. It also seeks to establish a robust talent pool to reinforce the national team, the Stallions, in the future.
The participating clubs and academies-Focusport FC, USFA, AS POLICE, AS DOUANES, Olympique de Ouagadougou, Real du Faso, CFFEB, KACIS CLUB, OMEGA FC, AD-DUHA FC, JUNTOS FC, and SALITAS-are competing in an intense mini-tournament held at the Benfica Campus BF. For these under-18 players, each match presents a critical chance to pursue a professional career and to represent Burkina Faso on both national and international stages.
